Where are some of the great places that you have had your kids birthday parties at in IF? We have had them at the zoo, Leo's, parks, bowling alley. Does anyone have any further suggestions?

We go to Blast Off for our children's birthday parties. They are great rates and the kids have a blast, not matter what age they are.

OK so we opted for Leo's.  The kids had a great time (3-11years old) playing in the playland and the video games.  They really loved the laser tag.  Now Leo's used to have the best pizza in town, I mean the crust was something I would crave!  I was so disappointed this time!  Next to Dominoes this ranked up with the worst pizza ever!  The birthday boy had a great time and that was the important part.  :)

Does a kid need a B-day party every single year? My kids are nearly 14 and 9 and they have each only had 1 big party apiece. We did a party at the house with submarine sandwiches and instructed guests to bring canned food donations rather than gifts. They were great parties that my kids have never forgotten.   Both of my kids were younger when we had these parties. They are content to invite one or two friends out to a nice dinner and a movie at the theater or at home.

Do whatever works for you and your kids.  You could just have parties upon reaching what you consider benchmark ages (e.g.: 1, 5, 8, 13, 16, 18) or whatever. The number of guests and whether they are family/friends should be appropriate to the event and family. Sounds like what you did was successful! Laughing

This is such an awesome idea!  You'd be teaching your kids to donate and they'd have a fun part at the same time!  Great post Pink and thanks for sharing the great idea!

Here's another place that I would like to take my kids… I just found it not too long ago after moving out west of town last year.  It's a little place just north of Idaho Falls.  It's a county run boat ramp/park and it would be a great place to have a birthday party with fishing for the kids.  Provided there aren't too many of them to keep an eye on with the river.  There's hardly ever anyone there and it's very relaxing…  Here's a map…

I just recently learned that the Aquatic center has birthday party packages. Probably not a great idea if you are on a tight budget (runs about $55 for 10 people, 50min in the party room and one large pizza), but it is great alternative to Blast off, Leo's place, or the Skating rink. Both my kids have b-days in the winter (Dec. and Feb.) so trying to find fun places to host a party indoors is difficult.

We've done birthday parties at the aquatic center, and the kids loved them, I'd definitely do it again.

We've done a couple swimming birthday parties at Apple Athletic Club.   From what I remember, the price was comparable to the Aquatic Center.  The nice thing about Apple is that is has the therapy pool which is nice and warm for younger kids (and adults who don't want to freeze.)    But it doesn't have diving boards or anything like that.  Saturday afternoons are usually really low key, so that's a good time to do a party.  Call 529-8600 to get prices.

I think that's an awesome idea to have all the kids bring something for charity!  I think my son would really enjoy that.  Kids sometimes surprise you if you give them the opportunity to help others–they love it!  I am all for inviting one or two friends over for birthdays, because I worry about making kids feel left out if they don't get invited to the “big parties”.   But to each their own.  I know my son has really enjoyed the birthday parties he has been invited to recently and I'm sure we'll have a few, but definitely not every year.  Thanks for sharing such a neat idea for the “big parties”.

There is a gymnastics building located just down the street from the Sky View drive inn.

We attended a b-day party there a couple of months ago, and it was fantastic. For one price they provide an hour and a half of play time, pizza, drinks and a cake.

My sons had a blast, and so did the parents.
