Let me introduce myself, I am Janet Trujillo (Tru-he-o). I am married, with four children and three grandchildren. I have worked in County government for several years. I have been very active in my community working with various organizations. I am passionately involved in promoting constitutional education and believe in the original intent of our founding fathers. I have extensive experience working with local taxpayers.
I believe that strong family values are the core of our community. I feel that our government, for the most part has lost the concept of who they work for. When the people elect a government official they are hiring that person to work for them and their best interests.
New leadership is needed in the Bonneville County Treasurer’s office. I am the one who will bring effective leadership, accountability, transparency and strong ethics to the office. Working in the Assessor’s office, I have first hand knowledge of taxpayers frustration dealing with the treasurers office.
I have experience working with the state mandated software and have the ability to effectively implement the program. Through strong leadership I will bridge the inter department communication and cooperation to provide better and more cost effective taxpayer services. As a public official I will not make excuses, I will address problems and fix them. The people deserve an office that in not above scrutiny with an open door policy. I am a full-time public servant dedicated to improving the Bonneville County Treasurer’s office.
In today’s political environment “change” is nothing more than a hollow rallying cry, meaning different not necessarily better. I bring the change you want. Janet Trujillo, Bonneville County Treasurer, the change you want.
Thank you for your support.

You’ve got my vote. Of course I’d vote for a frog over Mark Hansen.
Good Luck Janet. Thanks for posting here and telling us some good information. I don’t know much about the Treasurer’s Office. I have a question for you: What would you change about the operation(s) of the current office and why?
Good luck, Janet. Thanks for posting here.
I read Janet’s bio, after reading down all the “Republican” this & that, believes in Family Values, yada yada yada, she mentions she’s helped organize local events for U.S. Troops…right from the Republican playbook. The Tea Baggers are trying to take over everything.
Thanks for your post and interest Janet. Lets see, you are pursuing a County office position….a Mormon Temple on your site; a map showing the Washington DC area; Constitutional teachings (I assume you are not talking about the Idaho Constitution); apparent mocking of the President’s change message. It is not clear at all to me you would apply your efforts towards ALL Bonneville County residents.
Those questions bear answering, Janet.
A lot of people believe Mark Hansen is using the office as much for his personal benefit as for service to others.
Are you prepared to help someone who you don’t agree with politically as much as another who hold your beliefs?
You’ve selected local bigot Tim Urling as your campaign treasurer, are you also an Abe Lincoln hater Janet?
Those pics are interesting, did you take those yourself or pay for them?
Interesting site description you have: Designed to arm the liberty-loving silent majority with intellectual ammunition. Ok, where is this intellectual ammunition you are arming me with?
Janet did you know your RealTracker script attempts to install malware, trojan horses, and security exploits on each of your site visitor’s computers? See http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/realtracker.com/summary/
Please remove this script from your site immediately. Everyone else, beware visiting her site until she has fixed this problem.
I have been asured by my web service that the webpage is not infected with any viruses. All visitors are fine to view my webpage.
In my current position as a certified tax appraiser for Bonneville County I have the opportunity to work with all taxpayers. I am not against others having different views from my own. This country was founded by men who came together having many points of view. As a professional I am prepared to hear other’s views and serve the people not a party. I am not afraid to listen to other’s opinions. I will serve the taxpayers of Bonneville County with integrity, accountability and transparency. As a public servant I will not interrogate a taxpayer before serving them. Yes, I am proud to be a republican, however; many of my friends are democrats and this leads to healthy conversation. I will proudly serve all the taxpayers of Bonneville County.
Operations that need to be changed are to bridge inter department relations. The different county departments need to work together. The taxpayer funds need to be better managed and deposits need to be made in a timely manner. Changes in money handling need to be made and internal control checks need to be initiated. For more information on this you can view the county audit reports in the clerk’s office. Staff training needs to be implemented.
You must have an amazing web site provider if they feel confident to override McAfee’s analysis that the realtracker service inserts trojan horses. Either that or your provider lacks expertise and doesn’t want to deal with it.
Your website is not infected with viruses, but the javascript you are serving via realtracker can insert trojan horses. There is a gap between what I pointed out and your response, I don’t think you understand the vulnerability on your site.
Why aren’t they using google analytics that’s also free but much more trustworthy? You need to see if your provider is getting monetary commission via affiliate, if they used that because they get paid for every site they can use stick it on.
I dont like you evading a simple question (how can we trust you to lead if you are avoiding simple questions already?) so I’ll ask again: what do you think of Abraham Lincoln Janet? Was he a great president or do you hate him like your treasurer?
Fair enough and well stated, Janet. Thanks for the honest response.
This is always a rough crowd Janet. Internet anonymity breeds many brave outspoken souls. You’re better off reaching voters through the PR and KIFI where commenter’s are held accountable. I would think your campaign manager would know that.
Good Luck
I have not had the opportunity to speak with Tim on his feelings towards Ab Lincoln, honestly it never would have occurred to me to do so. I can tell you that I am not an Abraham Lincoln hater. In fact those who know me personnally know that on my fireplace mantle sits a tile plaque with the quote” In the end it’s not the years in your life that count but the life in your years.” Ab Lincoln
While we are speaking of Abraham Lincoln he has two quotes that I believe speak to why and how I am running for the office of Bonneville County Treasurer “I do the very best I know how-the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.” Ab Lincoln
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong,” Ab Lincoln
Who cares what one thinks of Abe Lincoln? I want someone in this office who will run it ethically and who will put customer service, taxpayers are customers essentially, first. Those are two things that Mark Hansen fails at drastically.
Janet said I have not had the opportunity to speak with Tim on his feelings towards Ab Lincoln, honestly it never would have occurred to me to do so.
Strange, because Tim is infamous in Idaho Falls now for his anti-Abe Lincoln op-ed articles and comments in the Post Register and other places. Do you not read the local paper Janet, or are you like Sarah Palin, reading ‘any of them, all of them’?
I’m glad to hear you’ll do the best you can.
I would hope that Janet isn’t referring to notes scribbled on her hand for a response to the above previewed before question.
Beats the need to have a teleprompter to talk to grade school kids
Janet, I’m glad to see you are running. The treasurer’s office is in serious need of change. It needs someone who will be accountable to the tax payer, pass clean audits, and most of all, stop paying third party businesses to do the job. Please let me know if I can help out in the campaign and get the word out!
Good luck!
What is Janet’s education, she did not say her education on her website biol. Any college, high school, ged?
Janet said she is ‘Aggressively involved in promoting constitutional education in the area.’ What does that mean, what activities were involved in that, could anyone explain that better please?
please see my webpage for my education it is now posted
Thanks Janet.
High school graduate, minimum requisite.
Dental assistant, was that a 1-year certificate, a 2-year associate degree, a four-year BA?
SLCC Business Management, again is that a 9-month certificate, a 2-year associates, or what?
Did you complete either of those programs, or just take a few courses in them? You claim on your website that you will ’serve with integrity and transparency’ so I hope you will be transparent about your education.
The certified tax appraiser certificate, do you mean the CAE available from IAAO? Just wondering, I don’t see a certified tax appraiser certificate, and I’m not familiar with your field.
I am familiar with the difference between certificates and course grades. You claim to have “certificates earned from the International Association of Assessing Officers” but then you list six courses. I verified at http://www.iaao.org/sitepages.cfm?Page=47 that those are course requirements towards earning a single certificate, not six certificates as you have claimed.
Was that mis-worded on your campaign site? I hope to see a correction soon.
I am still wondering what you mean by ‘Aggressively involved in promoting constitutional education in the area.’ What activities?
I would also recommend someone proofread your website, I’m afraid there are some grammatical and spelling errors that will unfairly reflect on you.
Hmmm.
So- does it look like our choice for Assessor is going to be between a semi-qualified teabagger and a self-serving incumbent who seems to be playing fast and loose with regulations?
Oh, well. What else is new in Bonneville County politics? Pick the elephant, get the elephant every time. I expect one candidate will try to interject non Assessor issues into the office, and the other will keep trying to line his pockets from his position. Swell choice.
