Idaho Falls Bank Robbery Suspect

As most of you know (I found out from Alice by her alert in the chatbox) the Wells Fargo Bank on Skyline/Broadway in Idaho Falls was robbed a couple days ago on Wednesday afternoon December 30.

From KPVI Channel 6: “Police, who roped off the area shortly after the robbery say the subject is described as older – possibly between 55 and 65 years old. 6 foot tall, approximately 200 pounds with a scruffy beard and glasses.”

Anyone related to this guy? It’s hard to tell from the pictures I’m looking at, but given how the lenses distort his face, those look like prescription glasses. That bank isn’t too far away from the highway exit so I wonder how far away he is by now.

I’ve lived in Idaho Falls for less than five years and have only started paying attention to the local news more within the past 6 months. I still don’t pay attention enough which is not something I’m proud of. For those that are more of an authority on this area by growing up around here, have you noticed any trends in the frequencies of robberies the past 10 years or so? Increasing? Decreasing? About the same? There are statistics on this so we’ll get to the facts. What are some you remember?

And of course, share anything you know about this latest bank robbery.

If you have any information that can help officers locate the man, call them at 529-1200 or crime stoppers at 522-1983.

Bank robberies have been increasing in S.E Idaho over the past ten years. Probably related to the economy and the lack of jobs. Considering how poorly banks are doing one might ask why robbers don’t hit a Wal-mart instead?

That robber was probably desperate and unemployed, right? I saw the video and picture of the robber on channel 8 a few hours after the robbery; and by golly! That guy looked familiar! So I pulled up the picture of the guy I thought it looked like, and… MATCH!

Well, at least I think it’s a match. Maybe not.

Changed my mind.

Watched the videos.
Sieger isn’t that tall.

Wells Fargo financially screwed over a family member of mine real badly in 2009. Do an internet search and you’ll quickly see for yourself how many people they have ripped off. It wouldn’t surprise me if someone was trying to get their own money back that Wells Fargo had legally stolen from them.

Someone should look at whether parolee Craig Fillmore is good for the robbery. He is tall, always liked to wear stocking caps and wears glasses…………….

Craig Fillmore is only 42, which is significantly younger than the bank robber. If you look at his photo in the link above, you’ll see he really doesn’t resemble the robber at all.

Thanks for helping out Wendy; however, the photo you linked up looks nothing like Craig Fillmore that I am referring to. I don’t know much about the photos you are looking up and posting here, but they are obviously not the same person.

mm, k, that’s the only Craig Fillmore of Idaho Falls I know of. Or are you referring to someone not from Idaho Falls?

What amazes me in this day and age is that people still think they can get away with robbing a bank. Not very bright in my opinion.

Another bank robbery yesterday in Rexburg. http://www.localnews8.com/global/story.asp?s=11787651
They have some good pictures of this guy and I suspect he’ll be arrested soon.

I can’t believe Jason Hagan only got 5 years and will be eligible for parole after 18 months. That’s a slap on the wrist for a sentence if I ever saw one.

That doesn’t sound like much jail time for bank robbery but isn’t it about the same amount of time Rachel Williamson got for her bank robbery? I think her sentence was 6 years and eligible for parole after 2 years. I agree that bank robbery should carry a lot stiffer sentence regardless of whether they have a prior criminal record. I’ve known of people who spent more jail time for lesser crimes than these bank robbers. If that Rexburg bank robber is a local he is bound to get caught. He did not seem to be disguised very much at all. But maybe he was just passing through and nobody will recognize him.

It looks like they have the suspect for the Wells Fargo robbery in custody now.
