Idaho Falls Gas Stations Are Price Gouging!!!

by newru June 30, 2009

Okay, go to Gasbuddy.com or drive from Idaho Falls to Pocatello and you will see that Idaho Falls average Gas prices are $2.59 but in Pocatello they are $2.49. Why are two towns that are affected by the same weather, economy etc… that have a $.10 price difference. I think Idaho Falls is price gouging. This needs [...]

Selective Discrimination

by Neal Larson June 29, 2009

[Originally posted at www.larsonshow.com]
On Monday’s show I had a “steamed” caller, upset at me over my comments about the two Lesbians — one of which was not given a family discount — at Lava Hot Springs a few weeks ago.
The caller said the Constitution does not define a family. I also said the Constitution didn’t [...]

Why should we buy auto insurance?

by Alice June 29, 2009

A week and a half ago, my boyfriend was riding his motorcycle down 17th street when an uninsured driver pulled in front of him and caused an accident. Luckily, my boyfriend only suffered a laceration over his eyebrow (requiring several stitches) and damage to his motorcycle. The driver of the car told the officer that [...]

I saw an unusual thing today. I was standing in line at the gas station, and the man behind me was crying. He literally had tears in his eyes. I was in is situation, I would cry too. He called out loudly to everyone standing in line, “You all watch channel six news tonight.” There [...]

School is out and the kids are bored… what now?

by Alice June 19, 2009

It seems that we need some ideas on ways to keep our kids busy this summer. We all know that busy kids get in less trouble. Let’s post some ideas here. Anyone who has raised kids has probably got some inventive ideas.
Both of my kids were working summers with locally owned restaurants when they were [...]

Anyone know how many deputies in Bonneville County?

by FloydV June 18, 2009

I’m curious.  Seems like there are many more than in a similar county in Texas.
Generally, there, police were in the city,  State Troopers on the highway.  Sheriff was almost  a non-existent entity.  I’m curious why. We also have state police and investigators here.

Fixing The Financial Debacle Once and For All…

by Dennis Jones June 17, 2009

I noticed that there was quite a discussion here spurred on by the recent Tea Party / Tax Revolt movement (?) that enthralled the country (or at least the relatively small Fox Noise portion of it). It seems that most every point and counterpoint was made there, so I won’t even ask why there was [...]

Hitt Road: Idaho Falls v. Ammon

by Neal Larson June 15, 2009

On my radio show Tuesday we’ll be discussing the disagreement between Ammon and Idaho Falls over who pays to make Hitt Road as big as it should be. I’ll be interviewing Ammon City Council President Dana Kirkham.
I’m sure this is a simplistic view, but Ammon basically says they’ve already paid for more than half of [...]

Enough Complaining…It’s Time For Solutions

by Dennis Jones June 15, 2009

During the past few years, we have all been kept well informed as to the state of our national economic downturn. And, thanks to forums such as this, we’ve all had our opportunity to sound off and voice our displeasure at our government’s leadership (or lack thereof) with regards to the creation of and the dealing [...]

Government Budgets Are Tight – Where Would You Cut?

by Guest Writer June 5, 2009

Submitted by: Coolwater
Yesterday in the Post Register, there’s an article titled “Polite Protest” in which St. Anthony students protest a reduction in pay for their teachers. It read in part:
Without songs, speeches or anger, South Fremont students demonstrated in support of their teachers and administrators.
“This wasn’t going to be about marching or carrying signs,” [...]

Vandalism in the name of morality.

by Alice June 4, 2009

I read a story today about a topless coffee shop in Maine that was burned to the ground Wednesday. Authorities said it was obvious that this was arson. I had read other stories before about people that were very unhappy about this particular establishment’s existence.
Reading this story reminded me of a discussion that we have [...]

New Grand Teton pathway, and wildlife.

by Alice June 4, 2009

I read a story in the PR this morning regarding a new pathway from Moose Jct. to Jenny Lake. It sounds like a good thing, I’m all for more ways to enjoy the outdoors without the worry of becoming roadkill.
There was one thing that made me wonder though. The article states that no pets are [...]
