On May 13th in the “Boise Weekly” there was an article ran about the 300 person crowd at the state capitol for the “Global Marijuana March”.

I have been saying this for a long time, I believe that Idaho will be the 14th state for legalizing marijuana in one way or another. However, it looks like it may be the 15th state since Missouri will be passing their bill next.
Here is a clip from the article in the Boise Weekly.
Since 1996, voters have favored ballot initiatives removing criminal penalties for growing or possessing medical marijuana in Alaska, California, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Maine, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. State legislators in Hawaii, New Mexico, Rhode Island and Vermont have passed medical marijuana laws. On Nov. 4, Michigan became the 13th medical marijuana state and Massachusetts’ voters decriminalized personal possession.
In an article found in the Washington Post, the current White House drug czar (former police chief of Seattle Norm Kerlikowske) explains that the White House will be changing the current US drug policy to a harm reduction policy instead of a punish and destroy the product policy.

I am amazed and proud of the brave citizens who took to the streets on May 2nd in Boise:
The Worldwide Marijuana March drew more than 300 demonstrators to downtown Boise on Saturday, May 2. Offering peace signs and garnering many supportive car honks, the marchers moved slowly under scattered showers along Capitol Boulevard to the front lawn of the Idaho Legislature.
Bravo!!
(small non-Idaho concerning issue? I think not!)

I think pot should only be legalized as a prescription from a doctor. I use to smoke pot a lot in my younger days. It had its pros and cons. Mostly cons. My short term memory is really bad now, I have problems sleeping, and depression was constant when I used. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia five years ago, and was told it was probably partly from the use of it. I gave it up, and some of those disorders have all but disappeared. I am a much happier person now.
Stars: you are a liar. you did not get bad short term memory and become schizo from ganja. Shame on you and people like you for blaming your problems on marijuana. Legalize it already, let people choose for themselves if they want to smoke.
it is outrageous and hypocritical that alcohol and cigarettes remain legal yet herb, which is a PLANT that grows freely in nature is “illegal”..we are bombarded by BS propaganda about the so-called dangers of marijuana which is generated by the tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceutical companies who for obvious reasons want to keep it illegal… Alcohol, prescription drugs and cigarettes cause addiction, death and disease every single day…No one in history has ever died from an overdose of marijuana… In the words of the late, great Bob Marley “alcohol is the destruction of the world, herb is the healing of the nations”… and in the words of Peter Tosh (another late, great legend) “LEGALIZE IT!!!”
