Does anyone have a list of locally owned restaurants that have good service and food? I am still sorta new in town and have ate at a couple of locally owned restaurants, such as Hot Diggity (good dogs), Okies Burgers (great atmosphere), and Happy’s (good service). What about some other ideas and options?

Though it is a franchised restaurant, my wife and I do like the Ruby River Steakhouse. Good steaks.

I love Pachangas on Capitol right south of the courthouse. Best Mexican food I have had here.

The Cellar is locally owned and features great international cuisine and the service is great.

For local flavor, it’s hard to beat the Snakebite downtown. (Park and A)

btw the cellar is pricey so be prepared :) Great food and good atmosphere for a relaxed intimate dinner though.

The Hard Hat is good too.

we love A Little Bit of Mexico! It is always fresh and they have grilled cactus leaf, which is delicious! They know us by name we eat there so much!

We tried to go to Fat Boys a few days ago, but they were closed for some reason (there was a sign posted).

We will definitely try again ;)

They have GREAT burgers. There isn’t a burger on the menu under 1/2lb. Also heard a radio ad that stated burgers are buy-one-get-one after 5pm…for $7.50 – $9.00 (for two burgers) it’s a great deal. Haven’t tried their dogs yet, but I think I’ll head down there this weekend to check them out.

They also have funnel cakes on the menu for $4.95…makes me want to break my low-carb diet!

My son finally made it to Fat Boys yesterday after work, and he brought home the largest hamburger I’ve ever seen in my life!

I didn’t get a chance to try it (I had already eaten) but he loved it., what he could eat of it. He brought friends today to help him finish it, and that’s teenage boys. You know how they can eat!
