Press Release:
Idaho Falls – More than 40 majors will be represented at the Idaho State University-Idaho Falls Majors and Graduate Fair scheduled 3-6 p.m. March 18 in the Multipurpose Room of the Bennion Student Union at University Place.
“The primary purpose of the fair is to provide the opportunity for prospective and current students to receive first-hand knowledge of the undergraduate and graduate programs, and the majors and minors available to them,” said Susan MaComb, event organizer and academic advisor.
She said direct contact with departmental faculty provides students with the most relevant information needed to make an informed choice of major, minor or program. Last year approximately 150 students attended the event. Those who completed evaluations were overwhelmingly positive and reported the fair was helpful in their decision-making.
We’re expecting to have an even larger turnout this year as more people are looking to education to increase their career options in the future,” MaComb said.
“Community members are beginning to realize the full range of educational opportunities available at ISU-Idaho Falls, and this fair is a great place to learn the specifics about them.”
The Bennion Student Union is located at 1784 Science Center Drive in Idaho Falls. Parking is available.
For more information on the fair contact MaComb at (208) 282-7802.

I’ve been considering whether or not I’ll attend this. I’ve already declared my major, but I’m hoping there will be people there who are more helpful than most of the people in the education department. It’s hard to find know legible people at ISU sometimes. Most of the time. All of the time,
Attend
I never attended the fair at the Bennion Building, here in I.F., but did attend the same type of event at I.S. U. a couple of times in Pocatello (when I was a student). If you’re going just to spend 15-20 minutes, pick-up pamplets and leave then, don’t waste your time. You can do that on any day of the week in the main office.
Attend the fair to meet the professors, find out about the specific fields of study the represent, how the credits you already have might fit into that study, and see if one of the disciplines really tickles your interest. ASK QUESTIONS! And have fun.
