A recent poll showed Jim Risch leading over Larry LaRocco 48% to 34%. But Larry is slowly chipping away at Jim Risch’s lead. Is there a chance Larry can close the gap and pull it off by November?
I find it interesting to see how the internet is changing the playing field for getting a candidate’s message out. In researching who I’d be interested in voting for, I visited the websites of both Jim Risch and Larry LaRocco.
Jim Rische: http://www.risch4idaho.com
Larry Larocco: http://www.laroccoforsenate.com/
Both had video available on their website. To get to Larry’s website you had to submit your email address (which I wasn’t quite willing to do just yet due to rampant spam today) or click through. For Jim Risch, you they had video playing the second you enter the site.
Jim seems to have sites put up on Facebook, Youtube, and Blogspot as well. Larry has sites on Myspace and Facebook (though I couldn’t seem to get myspace to work). What are your thoughts, a good way to market for a candidate, or cheesy and pointless.
Does Jim have this in the bag, or could Larry catch up and pass him?

I’m hoping that when people go to the polls, that they think back and remember what Risch did when he was acting. We each have to make up our own mind and vote according to our own conscience, but in my case, Risch hurt the old pocketbook. I am hoping that LaRocco will catch and pass him in the polls. Maybe even Ramrell would be better.
The only thing I would ask of everybody is to really research the candidates and then vote for the one you feel would be the best for Idaho and for you personally. Don’t let the party affiliation decide your vote. This year at the polls, let’s pretend that no one running is a member of either party. (I can dream and hope can’t I?)
I can’t stand the bunker mentality of Risch or Wilde for that matter…….it really bothers me that they seem to take it for granted that they can and will get elected because they have an “R” after their name. While I would normally support them easily, if they came out and spelled out their agendas, it really makes one think that if they are either too lazy or too arrogant to communicate with voters that they won’t be real responsive once they get in office.
LaRocco’s campaign manager quit today to take a job with the U of I, not a good sign for his campaign!!!
