Post Register Owner Jerry Brady Shares Insights From The Democratic National Convention

I don’t know how I missed this, but the owner of the local Post Register, Jerry Brady, attended the Democratic National Convention in Denver and kept us informed with a day by day blog of the event.
It’s nice to have a local from Idaho representing us at such a great event. You can read the day by day coverage written by Jerry Brady here: http://www.postregister.com/blogs/dncdenver/
With talk about the Republicans canceling portions of the Republican convention due to hurricane Gustav, I don’t know if Jerry Brady will also be covering the Republican convention there.

Looks like the Post Register has Ron Nate covering the Republican National Convention (which should also be a great event). The blog can be found here:

Herb, the liberals accuse me of being too conservative, and the conservatives accuse me of being too liberal. I just try to get the news out and welcome both sides of the issues. If someone can get the local republicans to send me some press releases, please do and I’ll publish them if they’re relevant.
The Post Register has a bad reputation in the community for pushing propaganda (possibly due in part to their involvment with the Democratic party), but I’m not sure they deserve that reputation. They are after all covering both conventions. Someone could argue they don’t have the same status of individual covering both events, but that just might be more travel than one person would want to handle.
It will be interesting to see how they cover the overall election coverage this year. Maybe we should start an article about how which direction and how far we think the local newspaper leans politically. I’ll bet that would get some good discussion from all sides. What do you all think?
Great article Joe Eagle! Kudos to you and to Jerry Brady!
Herb, I recognize you would have been far more appreciative if it had a republican tone to it. But to chastise Joe for this given all that has come to play on this site, is just plain wrong. Try not to put him in a no win situation. If he’s going to profess that he’s not biased, he needs to show it as well. This post certainly assists with that.
I agree hmm. And I appreciate that Joe put up this post.
Just a note — Idaho Falls physicist Debu Majumdar (DAY-boo mah-JOOM-dar), was also a national delegate to the democratic convention.
Here’s a link about Debu and why he supports Obama:

He also has a blog somewhere, but I can’t find it right now.
Herb,
That has certainly not been my experience with Debu, and I’ve spent a lot of time with him discussing issue. He loves America and is devoted to making our country even better. I love that at his age he’s willing to get involved and is dedicated to the democratic process.
I wonder what your record in that regard is? No need to answer if you don’t want to. I’m not trying to bait you! ![]()
I greatly appreciate your military service, even though I believe Vietnam was an ill-conceived war.
Have you read McNamara’s book “In Retrospect: The Tragedy and Lessons of Vietnam” ? In it, McNamara identifies what he said were the 11 failures of the Government which caused the U.S. to bungle and then lose the war. It is interesting to assess these in light of what we have done, and have not done, with respect to the war in Iraq:
My Father-in-law, a retired General, served three tours of duty in Vietnam flying helicopters, and was shot down twice.
I hope it’s not too presumptuous of me to ask about your purple heart?
Kind Regards.

Joe, you are not that naive to think Brady is going to cover the Republicans are you? He is in Denver as a democratic delegate, not as a newsman. As Idaho’s #1 cheerleader for the democrats his blog is just that.
You publish democrat press releases, advertise Brady’s propaganda blog, and you claim to be unbiased politically. I have no problem if you do lean on way or the other, just don’t say you are neutral when it’s clear you are not.
