Sawtooth Music Festival 2008, a benefit for the Salmon River Clinic, will be held from noon until midnight on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 in Pioneer Park, at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains in Stanley, ID. The festival, started by 2 river guides, is in its third year and has been extremely successful. Expected attendance at this year’s festival is 1500 people. 2008 headliner Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, has been described as, “a bluegrass outfit hijacked by a punk-rock singer with a burning desire to write pop music.” Other artists include San Francisco-based FreePeoples and Dgiin, Boulder-based Elephant Revival and Idaho bands Jeremiah James, EqualEyes, The Damphools, and Heads Like This. Camping will be permitted in Pioneer Park on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 only. The festival will include food and craft vendors. Beer will be available with ID. Picnickers, blankets and low-back chairs are welcome. No glass will be permitted in Pioneer Park. Proceeds benefit the Salmon River Clinic.
