Editor’s Note: Tom Hally is currently serving on the Idaho Falls city council.

First of the issue of the Police Station I cover on my web site www.hallycouncil.net.

Craig Lords has been a division head for a long time but we have very strong minded dept. heads who work very well with the Council. Craig will actually give up some of his responsibilities when we hire the new HR person who will be directly under the mayor.

We desperately need a new police station. I do not know of one person who has been in our present building does not feel the same way. Eventually I think you will see satellite stations.

I am a strong proponent of building up Hitt Rd. and the intersection at 1st street. I can envision a lot of traffic coming off at York to Hitt and beyond 1st street.

The population estimate of IF is 56,400 from the BMPO. They were the most accurate to predict the 2000 census population.

I will not have time to deal with the web site as I am going door to door but want to encourage all to visit my website. I have attached some answers I gave to questions asked by realtors and the IF fire dept. These answers might answer a lot more questions people might have. Thanks. Tom Hally

Editor’s Note: Tom Hally attached two Word 2007 documents in the .docx format, which are not readable by any other software. Online conversion tools also failed, and Tom did not get me the text in any other format by publication time.

I think it’s absurd, that anyone should profit from a crime, and it doesn’t matter if they defaced public property, or committed murder. Who ever screwed this up to let someone be able to pay a paultry fine and then buy the damaged/ruined
property of that city is the one to be held accountable. There must come a time when someone stands up for common sense! If there is nothing more to be done about what happened in the past I hope you are in the position as city counsilman to draft legislature to keep this from happening again in the future.
