Apache105 is right about apolloanomalies.com. This one page (http://apolloanomalies.com/mech_attitude_changes.htm) pretty much decided the issue for me. Read the entire page and watch all of the videos on it. There are some other really good arguments made on this site besides this one too. And check out the conclusions page. OMG, I can't believe no one saw any of this before!

I don't know what to believe. But I'd like to know how that large 4 wheeled moon rover fit inside the capsule that landed on the moon. There's no way unless it was completely disassembled when they got there and reassembled on the moon.

People either believe or they don't and some people will see a conspiracy around every corner.

I prefer to believe. I guess if that makes me a hopeless romantic, so be it, but it makes my life more fun than the alternative.

And I've never been fond of Tang, but I really liked those space snacks we used to be able to get when we were kids. Anybody remember those? They were about 6" long and square and came in different flavors.

ahhh.... memories...

Did you look at those pictures? They could be pictures of any desert location using black and white film. There's not enough detail in them to prove anything.
And I like your list, did you make that up yourself?
Funny stuff.

If you do not know how we benifed for the moon landing. Then you are out of touch here are a few: GROUND PROCESSING SCHEDULING SYSTEM, SEMICONDUCTOR CUBING, STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS, AIR QUALITY MONITOR, VIRTUAL REALITY, Advanced keyboards, Customer Service Software, Database Management System, Laser Surveying, Aircraft controls, Lightweight Compact Disc, Expert System Software, Microcomputers, and Design Graphics, ENRICHED BABY FOOD, SCRATCH-RESISTANT LENSES, GOLF BALL AERODYNAMICS, PORTABLE COOLERS/WARMERS, Dustbuster, shock-absorbing helmets, home security systems, smoke detectors, flat panel televisions, high-density batteries, trash compactors, food packaging and freeze-dried technology, cool sportswear, sports bras, hair styling appliances, fogless ski goggles, self-adjusting sunglasses, composite golf clubs, hang gliders, art preservation, and quartz crystal timing equipment, SOLAR ENERGY, DIGITAL IMAGING BREAST BIOPSY SYSTEM, BREAST CANCER DETECTION, LASER ANGIOPLASTY, WELDING SENSOR SYSTEM, MICROLASERS, ADVANCED WELDING TORCH, LIGHTER FIREMAN'S AIR TANKS, TOLLBOOTH PURIFICATION, NEW WING DESIGN FOR CORPORATE JETS and much more.

Without the desire for the moon nasa would have had no reason or funding to invent/improve all the above. This is how you and everyone benifit from the "Space Race"

Please explain to us exactly what type of progress and how we benefitted from such an endeavor? If we did land on the moon so what. We brought back a few moon rocks? What else was so important about these missions? How has it made a difference in your life personally? It hasn't. It was all smoke and mirrors in order to trick the public into believing our government is doing something important all the while wasting our tax dollars. There were no advancements in science. They didn't discover a cure for cancer or find exciting new minerals we could use. It was a big waste of money.
Oh brother is right.

"was it right for the govt. to take tax payers money and involuntarily take said monies from them to fund such a project?"?!?

"$170 billion in 2009 dollars"?!?

We just paid out about a trillion bucks in Iraq and it was not nearly as cool as going to the moon.

Life is full of paying for things we don't all agree with, you are going to lose if you try to hang your hat on that argument.

Move to another country if you don't want to fund progress anymore.

Though I too have more then just a little bit of doubt in "our" trip to the moon, a recent article I read at Lew Rockwell dot com made me question more then just "Did we go?" but more importantly, say we did, was it right for the govt. to take tax payers money and involuntarily take said monies from them to fund such a project? Or as he said :

"The Apollo program was funded by tax money extracted from Americans who would otherwise have spent their money on unmemorable goods and services. These goods and services would have been higher on their list of priorities than the Apollo project. That is why it took coercion to fund the program....The total cost of the Apollo program was about $25 billion, or about $170 billion in 2009 dollars. The program matched the definition of commercialism: something done spectacularly that should not have been done at all. I said so in 1969. I have not changed my mind."

Ditto Mr North. I concur...

I agree. I've always thought it was pretty arrogant of people to think we are the only life there is.

The scale of what could exist is immeasurable, but lots of people can't imagine what it's like outside of Idaho, so it's just too big for some people to wrap their heads around.

I can't imagine earth is the only planet in this vast universe with life on it. That seems like an awful large waste of space. I think its obvious that life is out there and they are much more intelligent than ourselves. We currently use less than 10% of our brain capacity so imagine a world where its inhabitants have learned to utilize 100% of their brain potential. Most of us can't comprehend such a thing which is why the majority of the population laughs off topics like UFOs, alien life or visitors from another planet. Think about it. Think about how slowly we evolve and advance as a race. Its because people in general are so afraid of change it stunts their growth so to speak. We haven't had any real major advancements in technology in decades. But look at how we raise our children. We teach them is better to be rich in wealth instead of rich in knowledge. We'd rather them be professional ball players or lawyers instead of scientists. Our world is probably the red headed step child of the universe.

I've noticed that a large percentage of people who think the moon landings were faked also think that aliens visited the earth and built the pyramids in Egypt. But that's cool since the guys in the black helicopters are coming to take them all away (as soon as they finish adjusting the weather control devices).

The soviets were much more advanced during the space race when out of the blue we suddenly pulled ahead and sent a man to the moon just so we could claim we were there first. The Soviets never made it to the moon because they realized it was impossible.

I used to believe man went to the moon on Apollo, until I did the research. Now I work with a website that proves we did not go, and we are still unlocking new finding each week.

Want to hear a shocker? JFK, two months before he was killed, announced his plans for a joint trip to the moon with the Soviets. Come hear the speech for yourself.

Vicki, the answers you seek are out there, if you're only interested in searching them out. Many links are provided on this thread alone - if you take the time to read it.

I am one person here who can say with confidence we landed on the moon. This is not one of those situations where 'everyone has a valid opinion'. If you think there are really valid suspicions, such as the 'flag waving', you just haven't done any research. My question to you is - why? Why close your eyes to the perfectly easy & understandable explanations offered by the experts? Why would you consider that Aldrin & Armstrong & all the other men who actually walked on the moon are liars? Why would they do that?

I watched this show and have heard why they say we didn't land on the moon. To me the flag waving is very compelling. We may have flags that wave here but how could it wave on the moon when there is absolutely no wind? I am not saying I believe either way because I do not know but there is not one person on this board that can claim to know either way.
