Snow Plow is the Happy Balance of Snow Shovels

Oh what debates rage in eastern Idaho over snow removal techniques.

On one end is the traditional snow shovel, breaking your back and your body into a sweat, but much cheaper and more exercise than a snow blower.

On the other end is the snow blower, much more expensive to buy and operate, much more polluting to our environment, however much faster and easier to remove snow with than the snow shovel.

My house has a double-sized driveway and I live on a corner, so I have double sidewalks to clear. I view snow shoveling as some of the little exercise I engage myself in, so I hate to give it up. I would even buy a riding lawn mower before I buy a snow plow. However, I hate being in a complete sweat before I even start clearing the sidewalks, I hate the complete exhaustion I feel afterwards, and I hate having to shower after shoveling the snow.

My snow shoveling salvation came last year in the form of a snow plow snow shovel. It is a shovel with a curved head (like a snow plow) and angled at 45 degrees, so you simply push along and the snow goes to the side. You walk around like normal, but you do not have to lift the snow!

I can now easily shovel my snow and my neighbors’ sidewalks without breaking a sweat. Talk about good karma, huh?

The only place I can ever find this shovel is via QVC. The price is on the high end of shovels at $22.50 plus $6.22 (discounts available with two or more), but think of benefits. You will cut your shoveling time in half, save your energy, and it is much more economical than a snow plow.

I think this would be great for elderly people in our area, and for kids who go around shoveling walks for money. I have no connections to this product, and do not get any monetary kickbacks or commissions on the sales. I am just an advocate of this awesome product.

(I had difficulty linking to the product on QVC. It is item V20372, a 24″ Snow Plow, if you search for “snow shovel” it is the second item down, easily distinguished by it’s yellow head.)
