Maybe it’s still too early for the notorious hobo spiders to be seen everywhere, but I have been surprised at how few I have seen around the home this year.
I killed a little baby hobo in my living room and a little baby hobo off my little boy’s back when he stood up in his room one night (that was about a heart attack). Otherwise I have not seen any, though.
I started thinking about the reported deaths of so many roses in our area from last December’s warm temperatures followed by January’s extreme cold temperatures. Is it possible the same abrupt climate change could have killed off most of our local hobo spiders, or is it still just too early in the hobo season?

They’re alive and well outside at my home. Yesterday I killed at least 8 in less than 10 minutes by flooding the wooden boardwalk between my garage and patio.
I haven’t seen any yet this year, but I started spraying the Ortho Home Defense when I noticed the first wasp on my patio last month. That Ortho works wonders I’ll tell you what yessirreee.
Better living through chemistry.
I know thats right
None at my house. Strange.
Me neither, but I have cats, and they bring in all manner of wildlife so if we had wildlife inside, I’m sure they took care of it in their own medieval way.
