IdahoFallz.com Moving Between Hosts

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to the newsletter or RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

We are moving between hosts over the next few days. We are starting to get many visitors, and wish we did not have to do this now. However, better to get this chore over with sooner before even more visitors start arriving.

IdahoFallz.com is not changing, but the company our files are stored at is. Our current host, Vizaweb, has given us some uptime problems over the last year, and royally screwed up our domain name renewal recently. The charge was paid correctly, but their system failed to flow through and our site displayed a ‘domain name expired’ page for that weekend. What sealed the decision to change hosts was when Vizaweb failed to provide their promised 24-hour support over that weekend. We researched webhostingjury.com and decided to go with a much more reliable host,
Hostgator.com
. If you’re looking for a good website host and click that link, IdahoFallz.com gets a commission, so…

What this means is we are moving our website files, databases, settings, etc. from Vizaweb to Hostgator. After the files are moved to the new host, we then update our domain name servers which directs Internet browsers to look for our files at the new host instead of the old one. You will still type IdahoFallz.com for the address, but the domain name redirect can take a couple days. Over those couple days, your browser may tell you IdahoFallz.com is unavailable, when actually it just is not sure where to look.

So it means the next few days may have rocky access. Please understand and bear with us as we make this transition. Hopefully it will be settled before the weekend. Thanks.
