State Capital Moves to Idaho Falls

The last days of the 2006 Idaho state legislative session proved surprising as the official state capital was changed from Boise to Idaho Falls. The state constitution, seal, flag, and a cardboard box of other historical state artifacts were smuggled across the valley in the middle of the night. This move was similar to the last time Idaho’s state capital changed from Lewiston to Boise.

An Idaho Falls-based state senator was quoted as saying, “We did this to re-center the power base in Idaho from the minority urban interests to the majority agricultural base. The recent water struggle with Idaho Power illustrated to us that urban interests had too much influence. This move was needed to remind corporations and metrosexuals that Idaho’s economy relies on our agricultural base and not on an electric utility or a few minor urban needs.”

The state documents and artifacts were being held in a Republican party-owned SUV, but concerns with the rash of Idaho Falls meth addict-driven car burglaries led officials to move the official stuff to the old Fred Meyer building. They will be stored there until a new state capital building can be constructed. An Idaho Falls-based state representative was overheard saying they wanted to locate the new capital in the exciting Taylor Crossing development, but that high Idaho Falls property taxes would likely mean having to build just across the Ammon border.

Rioting was reported throughout Boise and Meridian as residents discovered they would now have to cooperate with rural Idahoans.

Apparently due to the great kindness of eastern Idaho’s people to the Governor, he and his wife will make Firth, Idaho, the State Capitol on April 8, 2008, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Firth City Hall. [No foolin'!]

Well they needed to move the center of power this way so that they could be closer to Glenn Beck when he moves here from New York. Since the Republicans are losing face, he could solidify their base.

Plus with Crystal coming here, (and you know the mystical powers of Crystal, if you don’t, then go to Nature’s Path on Hitt Road and they’ll tell you) it’s wise to be close to that kind of power, too.

Smart choices, all. Eastern Idahoans will RULE.

Whaaa? Glenn Beck is moving to Idaho Falls?

That’d be nice, but I seriously doubt it! Besides…..look what thread this “information” is listed. 8)

Per Sunday’s PR, Glenn is looking to buy property in this area (the inference being that he might move here).

Not an unreasonable assumption.

I was going to write an April Fool’s Day article that Glenn Beck had been voted Mayor of Idaho Falls. How prophetic…

His{glenn beck’s]kids go to Ricks.
