Our Idaho governor Dirk Kempthorne may finally become a bride rather than always a bridesmaid.

President George Bush announced yesterday he would nominate our own governor to replace Gale Norton as the Interior Department Secretary. Simply being nominated does not mean Dirk will get the job, especially since congress is in a fighting mood with our president on many fronts. In fact, Dirk has already been labeled “Gale Norton in pants”.

We wish Dirk well on this political career advancement. We hope he performs well for America and represents Idaho in a positive light. Do us proud, Dirk, and don’t get caught up in any Washington scandals, or we’ll whup your a$$ when you get back.
