Here’s a great way to earn some money from your creativity: sell your photos online at istockphoto.com. You have to register for free, pass a short tutorial to get accepted, then upload your pics according to specified minimum quality settings. You add descriptive ‘tags’ that help your pics get found by the site customers. Finally, you get paid 20-40% on each of your photos sold through istockphoto.com. You do the creative part, they handle the technical work, and you get paid for your efforts. You just became your own boss!

Not sure what to photograph? They even give you a list of images they do and do not need. They also accept images of 3D and 2D graphics for you PhotoShoppers and budding animators out there.

One nice aspect of the site’s business model is while photos can be bought for as low as $1, they are sold as ‘credits’, where each credit equals $1, and the smallest block of credits they sell is $10. So all istockphoto.com customers are spending at least $10, which means your pics are more likely to sell.
