Reports say Governor Dirk Kempthorne’s proposal to fix the so-called ‘developer’s discount’ would reportedly roll it back in 5 years. Huh, didn’t it only take about 6 months for the bad legislation to go into effect in the first place? Now our leaders say ‘gosh it’ll take a good five years to undo it’? And aren’t Dirk Kempthorne and many of his buddies saving tens of thousands of dollars each year on their personal vacation properties resulting from this tax loophole?

If our Idaho leaders fail time and time again to perform honorably, when will Idaho citizens finally work the citizen initiative process to fix what our leaders will not?
