Who is this guy to speak for everyone?

We are wondering who appointed Craig Parrish (Bannock County Republican Vice Chairman) to speak for every single Idahoan? When he states that a prominent Democratic senator “doesn’t vote the way anyone in Idaho votes” and that he “doesn’t think the way we do”, Parrish spotlights his own over-generalizing tendencies. Mr. Parrish, instead of claiming to speak for every single Idahoan, why not speak out about how Republicans tend to view the current ethics crises in Washington? Instead of attacking the senator, why not respond to the charges?

The Post Register reported that Nevada Democratic Senator Harry Reid gave a speech at ISU recently. Senator Reid obviously spoke out against Republicans, saying there was a ‘culture of corruption’ and and too much arrogance in Washington. Reid pointed out that morality is more than telling other people how to live their lives (pay attention Republicans).

To be balanced, the Democrats are still not offering a positive solution as to how they could lead us better than the Republicans. They are merely pointing to conservative failings and saying, “They are worse than us!” This tactic will not encourage any votes to swing their way.

However, the apparent ethics failures that are revealed nearly daily from the majority Republican party need to be addressed, answered, and reckoned. A party that always wants to set America’s moral compass and tell the rest of us what we can and can’t do, whom we can and can’t love, and even what we can or can’t think ought to not try evading the moral spotlight when it is shined on them.

The national politics will play itself out as always. All we say is that nobody in Idaho has the authority to speak for every other person in our state. Who died and made you the spokesman of everyone’s values, Craig Parrish? Nobody did, that’s who. You had no right to speak for everyone in such a generalizing manner.
